The wise application of money starts with your thoughts and ends with your actions. Elaborate on this point? Example?

To me this means that you think hard and close about what you do with your money, you dont just spend it willy nilly, you dont just go out and buy something because its cool, this also can mean when you are investing you invest in something that is wise, such as a no-load index fund, and you do not panic when the account is down in the short term and sell off and lose what you had made. Examples would be buying a lexus because the comercial told you too, or selling your stocks because the people on tv are acting like the world is ending and you should do it. Only listen to what you know has been backed up by fact and researched well by yourself, dont just take someones words on something, do your own looking in to it.

I liked that answer, Garrett. Let’s review.

We must pause as money comes into our lives and ask ourselves, how can I use this money to bring about more meaning and fulfillment not only to me, but to others? How can you find happiness through the use of that money? Those are powerful questions and it requires an examined life. We MUST step back from the moment and become self-aware of the culture in which we live. Is it helping or hurting your desire toward finding meaning and happiness in your life? If you want to identify those answers, watch these three documentaries: I AM, Happy, and Finding Joe. Now let’s see a real life example.

Advertising tells you that the new car, phone, computer, clothing, etc. will bring you more popularity, success, fame, happiness, etc. Will it? No, it will not. A person who is self-aware will see through this lie. He/she will not spend money on that illusion and instead will save/invest that money for something greater down the road.

Something greater? Using that money to bring meaning and happiness into one’s life. How? That is something YOU must figure out, not me. Here is what I do know. Spending all that money on stuff will not bring you a better life. Learning how to give as a way of living will. This is that moment where you stop and look at that person in the mirror and ask a few questions.

    Who are you?

Where do you want your life to go?

Finally, what are my talents, and how can I help?

    YOU are the answer!
