The best way to “fix” your finances is to change the way you think. What am I getting at? Example? “Who” is the answer?

The best way to “fix” your finances is to realize that YOU are the answer! Your financial situation is a product of your every day decisions whether good or bad. You can become your own financial advisor by listening to the teachers and ignoring the salesmen. Start making a change TODAY by creating a net worth statement to assess your financial situation. Then create a financial plan with some short term and long term goals. Finally, pay yourself first by saving a chunk of your income as soon as you get paid, and track your spending in order to see where cuts can be made. YOU ARE THE ANSWER!

You have to get a different mind set. Thinking in a monthly payment mindset can get you in a lot of trouble. You need to look at what something will cost you over the life of the item. You need to get out of the consumer mindset and get in to a saver mind set. You cant let advertisements affect you as much as everyone around you. It is ok for you to stand out and be different. When everyone is living paycheck to paycheck and it looks like you dont have very much because you dont buy many depreciating assets. It will look like your poor but in reality you are the one with the money and those who look rich are the poor ones. You can either be rich or act rich. As a wise man says, you are the answer.

You two get it! Well done. Let’s recap.

    (1) YOU are the answer! Once you fully accept this reality, you are well on your way toward taking control of your finances AND your life. Stop looking outward when seeking the truth, seek inward. That’s where you will find the answers you seek about life and about YOU.

    (2) When you start taking full responsibility for your finances you end up seeking out information instead of waiting for it to come to you (and the helpers who deliver what you don’t need).

    (3) You stop looking at others to fix your problems (government, family, friends, Crazy Men who wear pink wigs, etc.) as YOU start fixing your own problems and that means fixing the way you think and behave when it comes to money.

    (4) The path toward financial freedom starts and ends with YOU. Believe in that and believe in YOU.
