Searching for success/prosperity/happiness by acquiring bigger and better “stuff” is a fools errand. Why? Options?
Because no matter how new and fancy your stuff is when you get it, that stuff will get old and less impressive pretty quick, people adapt to having that stuff and once they do the treadmill of wants starts to kick in and you will want some other new and fancy thing. If you do not get caught up in all the wants of the world and just focus on what you need and what makes your life better but doesn’t go over board then you will be happier, once you reach a point stuff no longer makes you happy and giving away your money can make you happy. You will never manage to keep up with everyone around you so you shouldnt try in the first place.
It is a better idea to just strive for “enough” – and that will be different for each individual. Once you have “enough” you will be able to use any extra funds to do things for others or contribute to something that is meaningful to you rather than piling up unnecessary stuff.

More stuff will not bring more success/prosperity/happiness into your life no matter how many advertising commercials tell you otherwise. It is an illusion and nothing more. Learn to be grateful for what you have as you seek something much greater than more and more stuff.
Learn when to say ENOUGH and stop trying to acquire more. This will open you up to giving more to others and ultimately this can bring you what we all desire. Personal fulfillment, meaning, and true happiness. Is this theoretical? No, it is grounded in empirical evidence (research studying happiness) and real life experience.
Buy less stuff and give more, it’s that simple. Whether you are giving of your time, your stuff, or maybe your money, just let go and learn to give unconditionally to others. Your life will never be the same. Believe it!
