What is the “weak spot?” How do you identify it? What can you do about it? Why should you care?

  1. Kat Graham says:

The weak spot is the thing in your life where you overspend. You have to identify it yourself-nobody knows you better than YOU! You have to be honest with yourself and budget each month for your weak spot (and don’t go over the budget amount you decided on). Paying cash for your weak spot may be an effective way to control your weak spot. You should care, because overspending on just one thing can negatively impact your financial future. We are all human-I’m sure almost all of us have that one thing that we spend too much money on. It is important to identify it and keep our spending in that area under control.

  2. Mike Finley says:

That was a wonderful answer, Katherine. I have little to add except this. We MUST identify our weak spots and deal with them directly otherwise financial freedom will probably not be achieved. Be honest with yourself, identify the weak areas, and budget accordingly. Your financial future depends on it.

Chapter 46 in my book, Financial Happine$$, goes into more detail on why this issue is so important. Take control!
