What is the purpose of a personal financial plan? How does a person go about completing one?

  1. Katherine Graham says:

The purpose of a financial plan is to be your blueprint as you build a financially successful life. The financial plan will also guide and hold you accountable for the financial decisions you make throughout the year. You can complete your financial plan by using Michael Finley’s example financial plan and replacing his information by plugging in your own information.

Well, not much left to say after that. Thanks Katherine! 🙂

Katherine got right and let me say welcome to Carl for joining the discussion. The financial plan is a MUST as we prepare for our financial future. We take our dreams and make them goals as we put them down on paper. DO NOT complicate this matter. Identify some short term goals (less than 1 year) and some long term goals (beyond 1 year). Sit down, write them down on paper and then GO GET THEM! Repeat on a yearly basis and modify as your life changes. MAKE IT HAPPEN!
