Many times the credit card gets a bad rap. What are some positive things that come with having a credit card?

Statement of account showing how money is spent.
Rewards, % return, buyer’s protection, price matching, insurance etc.

You highlighted many positive points, Aaron. Let’s recap. Credit cards are not evil nor are they some wonderful thing dropped down from heaven. It all comes down to the person using the card, period. If you fail to pay the card off in full every month, don’t have one. If you have one, get rid of it. You’re not ready. As for everyone else, let’s look at the positive points.

Take out your benefits sheet on your credit card (if you don’t have it, google it, its on the web). Most credit cards provide many positive things. Rewards, buyer’s protection, price matching, and car insurance are a few. Here is a big one. If someone steals your card and uses it, you are not on the hook for ANY of the purchases as long as you report the charges in short order (under 30 days and in some cases under 60 days). The convenience of a credit card can be ideal as long as you are responsible in its use. The power lies with YOU.
