Is your home an investment? Why or why not? If so, is it a good one? If not, where would you go for a good investment? What is a good investment?

No, your home is not an investment. Your home will cost you way more than you will earn based on appreciation. For a good investment, I would go to Vanguard and buy no-load index mutual funds. In order to be a good investment, it needs to have a low expense ratio; all fees should be under .3%.
Well said, Katherine. Your home is not an investment no matter how many people (usually in the real estate industry) say it is. It produces no income and whatever appreciation you earn will be squashed by the costs you incur. Costs? The yearly costs that include property taxes, insurance, maintenance, and upgrades. If you do want to call it an investment then you had better refer to it as a bad investment. Best case you might earn 1 or 2% per year after a decade or so. Would you call that good? I wouldn’t.
Katherine pointed us in the right direction. Vanguard can provide you no-load index mutual funds (bonds and stocks) that can provide returns ranging from 5 to 10% annually (after costs) based on your asset allocation model (how much you have in bonds and how much you have in stocks). Focus on reducing your costs to the lowest possible denominator as you reach for higher returns on your investments. It’s worth it. You’re worth it!

My husband and i ended up being now pefecaul that John managed to finish off his basic research with the precious recommendations he got in your site. It is now and again perplexing to simply find yourself giving out concepts which men and women might have been trying to sell. We really discover we need the writer to thank because of that. The entire explanations you have made, the easy web site menu, the relationships you will help to instill it’s all extraordinary, and it’s really aiding our son and the family do think that topic is fun, and that is pretty essential. Many thanks for the whole thing!

Tell your teacher I am not imesesrpd. Then ask her about the two million children being exploited each year in the child sex slave trade market. Tell her that I think that is a more important problem than global warming. One million people die every year from malaria. I could go on but you get the point. Then tell her it’s not her job to decide what global problems are most important, that’s a job for society and politicians. Then tell her to help you find facts and learn about science and that you can form your own opinions on what is important. Then tell your teacher once again I am not imesesrpd. Print this out and show it to her. And tell her I’m not some kid in school. I’m 50 years old and have a Masters of Engineering (i.e. 19 years of schooling). Both of my parents were teachers as were two of my uncles and currently one of my sisters. http://yqeagpymq.com fghgjbvdhj [link=http://fibafupzfr.com]fibafupzfr[/link]
